Children who have their 5th birthday during a given school year are entitled to come on roll in the September of that school year. Children in this very first year on roll at Botley Primary are in their ‘Foundation 1’ (‘F1’) year. These children are taught in the Elms Road School (ERS) setting in a purpose built foundation stage setting. ERS is situated within the newer building on site, next to Botley Primary.
From January 2009, schools run by Oxfordshire County Council have been accepting all children in the F1 year full time. Therefore, please note that we will be accepting all F1 children full time from September 2009 onwards.
Children from Elms Road Nursery School:
Our staff work with ERS staff providing an appropriate and stimulating curriculum within a purpose built early years setting.
ERNS is an Oxfordshire County Council free-standing nursery school, serving a wide local catchment area. This means children can transfer from there to schools other than Botley, in addition to Botley itself. Children who are at ERS and who are destined for Botley Primary School, will be deemed as being on our roll in their F1 year. However, it is necessary for parents to apply for a place at this school via the Local Authority:
For admissions during the 2010/11 academic year and beyond, local parents should receive the latest Starting School booklet. The booklet contains procedural information as in previous years. Please complete and return the Common Application Form by the date shown.
Children from other Nursery/Foundation Stage settings:
Please follow the procedures outlined in the Starting School booklet as stated in the last bullet point above. Please contact us if you require more detailed information.
