“Forest School is an inspirational process, that offers a range of learners opportunities to achieve, develop confidence and self-esteem, through hands-on learning experiences in a local outdoor environment”.

Information for parents

All the children in our school have the opportunity every week to spend half a day outside the classroom with a qualified Forest School Leader.

We cover many areas of the curriculum outside including maths, literacy and science.

The children have the opportunity to take the lead in their own learning through free exploration, which gives them the chance to take safe risks and and develop their skills at their own pace.

There are some useful documents here for your use:

  • Kit list – It is so important for the children to come to school on their outdoor learning day with their FULL kit please. If they are not dressed appropriately then they will not be able to engage in their learning as easily. Please do let us know if you would like some help in providing the required kit.
  • Medical and permission form – Please make sure you have completed this form for your child(ren) and returned it school. It is also important to let us know of any changes so that our records are kept up to date.

WE ALWAYS NEED HELP WITH OUR SESSIONS: the more adults we have the more the children gain from the sessions. If you can help us on any day of the week, please let the school office know.
